CIMO: IP Paris Engineering in Service of the Ocean

The Interdisciplinary Center for Seas and Oceans (CIMO) is the latest addition to the interdisciplinary centers of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Located on both the Palaiseau, Marne-la-Vallée, and ENSTA Brest campuses, CIMO develops cutting-edge research and education in maritime science and engineering. Its goal: to help reduce the environmental footprint of maritime activities, support the energy transition, and enhance environmental monitoring of marine ecosystems.

IP Paris finalists 3MT 2025 competition

Ana-Maria Bratu and Sooyong Chae were selected on May 22 to represent IP Paris in the interuniversity final of the Three-Minute Thesis competition. Six young researchers from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Université Paris-Saclay, and Université PSL will present their research topics to the public on Tuesday, June 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Télécom Paris. At the end of the presentations, the audience will be invited to vote for the candidate they believe delivered the most compelling 3MT® presentation.

Final of the Swarm Rescue Challenge 2024-2025: a drone swarm simulation programming competition

This year's final of the Swarm Rescue Challenge took place on 19 and 31 March. Organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Defence and Security Studies (CIEDS) of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) with the French Defence Innovation Agency (AID) and the Indian Defence R&D Organisation (DRDO), the Swarm Rescue Challenge is a Python programming competition. Its aim is to stimulate students' interest in defence and security issues, with a particular focus on strategies for navigation, exploration and coordination between agents.
