For the first time, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris will host the Forum Seas et Ocean, to be held on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, at ENSTA - Paris-Saclay campus. This scientific event is part of the activities of the CIMO – Seas and Ocean Interdisciplinary Center, and will also celebrate the first anniversary of its founding.

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris is organizing its first Seas and Ocean Forum on January 13, 2026. This event will provide an opportunity for an initial assessment of the Interdisciplinary Seas and Ocean Center (CIMO), inaugurated a year earlier in collaboration with IFREMER, and will also bring together CIMO researchers and their partners around the major upcoming challenges in research and innovation.

For its second edition, the IP Paris Demo Day brought together nearly 200 participants, including 80 investors, at the heart of Station F on November 20, 2025. With 40 startups from four of the incubators of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the event pursued a clear ambition: to strengthen the visibility of young tech companies, multiply matchmaking opportunities, and accelerate the transformation of scientific results into impactful innovations.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) is proud to announce the third edition of the REFLEXIONS conference, an international scientific forum designed to address the most urgent energy challenges of our time. Following the success of earlier editions, REFLEXIONS 2026 reaffirms its ambition to establish itself as a reference point in global debates on energy by integrating technological, economic, environmental, and social dimensions into a unified vision.

Michèle Wigger, professor at the Information Processing and Communication Laboratory (LTCI*) at Télécom Paris, and Nicole El Karoui, a mathematician who has conducted much of her work as part of a chair held by the Center for Applied Mathematics at École Polytechnique (CMAP**), were honored by the French Academy of Sciences on October 30, 2025.

On October 21, 2025, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris hosted the first edition of its Cybersecurity and Defense Conference. Two hundred scientists, institutional representatives, industry professionals, and students came to listen to and discuss this sensitive topic with experts at the forefront of national and European issues. Stéphane Mallat, alumnus of École Polytechnique (class of X81) and former chair of the applied mathematics department at École Polytechnique, Laurent Bopp, Director of Research at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD*), and Stefania Cacovich, Research Fellow at the Institut photovoltaïque d'Ile-de-France (IPVF**), were honored by the CNRS for the year 2025. They received gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively, for the quality of their work.

On November 20, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) will return to Station F for the second edition of its Demo Day. Building on the success of the 2024 edition, this event will bring together 40 startups from the Institute’s incubators – X-Up (École Polytechnique), the Télécom Paris Incubator, IMT Starter, and Ponts Alumni –who will present their technological innovations to an audience of investors, partners, and stakeholders from the academic and industrial worlds.

During his doctoral thesis at the SAMOVAR laboratory at Télécom SudParis, Maxime Bedoin combined electroencephalograms (EEG) and AI with the aim of diagnosing neurocognitive disorders and differentiating them from other neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. To do this, he applied an unsupervised learning method to a specific type of data: the connectivity between EEG signals that measure brain activity. This offers a promising decision-making tool for clinicians.

Lorenzo Hermez completed his PhD at the SAMOVAR laboratory at Télécom SudParis. During his three years of doctoral study, he developed engineering and machine learning methods for characterizing the gait of stroke and trauma victims. His research could help clinicians in their decisions during the diagnosis and evaluation phases of therapies to offer their patients.
