The Interdisciplinary Center for Seas and Oceans (CIMO) is the latest addition to the interdisciplinary centers of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Located on both the Palaiseau, Marne-la-Vallée, and ENSTA Brest campuses, CIMO develops cutting-edge research and education in maritime science and engineering. Its goal: to help reduce the environmental footprint of maritime activities, support the energy transition, and enhance environmental monitoring of marine ecosystems.

From June 11 to 14, 2025, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) will take part in Viva Technology, Europe’s largest event dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Visit booth D41 (Hall 1) to explore the full entrepreneurial, scientific, and academic ecosystem of IP Paris, alongside researchers, incubators, and startups from its member schools.

Ana-Maria Bratu and Sooyong Chae were selected on May 22 to represent IP Paris in the interuniversity final of the Three-Minute Thesis competition. Six young researchers from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Université Paris-Saclay, and Université PSL will present their research topics to the public on Tuesday, June 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Télécom Paris. At the end of the presentations, the audience will be invited to vote for the candidate they believe delivered the most compelling 3MT® presentation.

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) took part in the 2025 edition of Paris-Saclay SPRING, the flagship innovation event on the Saclay plateau. Held on May 20 and 21 on the École Polytechnique campus (IP Paris), the event showcased IP Paris's strong commitment to scientific entrepreneurship, interdisciplinarity, and the promotion of applied research.

On 3 April, the Mechanical Division of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris hosted a workshop dedicated to additive fabrication for repairs. The event brought together more than 80 participants from industry and academia, 25 companies and 8 laboratories.

Élisabeth Crépon is Vice President for Education and Student Life at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris since May 12, 2025. Estelle Iacona has been appointed Director General of ENSTA. She will officially take office on May 12, 2025. In this capacity, she will also join the Executive Board of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the governing body that brings together the leadership of the six member schools of the Institute.

Bpifrance and Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) are stepping up their commitment to breakthrough innovation. On April 22, alongside seven other top Grandes Écoles, the two institutions signed a partnership aimed at accelerating the emergence and growth of Deeptech start-ups born from academic research. This agreement, part of the Deeptech Plan led by Bpifrance on behalf of the French government, aims to structure a more fluid and efficient national innovation ecosystem.

This year's final of the Swarm Rescue Challenge took place on 19 and 31 March. Organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Defence and Security Studies (CIEDS) of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) with the French Defence Innovation Agency (AID) and the Indian Defence R&D Organisation (DRDO), the Swarm Rescue Challenge is a Python programming competition. Its aim is to stimulate students' interest in defence and security issues, with a particular focus on strategies for navigation, exploration and coordination between agents.
