IP Paris Masters & PhD Tracks: Applications open
Please note: New application procedures. Before starting your application, please check which category you fall under, using the information available in the table below. Starting from this year, the applications will be on two different plateforms according to your profile.
You will receive a response within 2 months following the end of the application period in which you applied.
PhD Track application: IP-Paris platform
For the academic year 2025/2026, the application session for the PhD Track program is from October 10th, 2024 to January 16th, 2025.
Masters of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris applications:

Note to applicants concerned by the Mon Master platform: In application of the MESR directives, your application cannot be accepted via the IP PARIS platform even after the closing of applications on the national Mon Master platform.

Application for the second year of Master's (M2):
- The Institut Polytechnique de Paris application portal can be found following this link.
- Once you have accessed the application, you may create an account linked to an e-mail address you will be using until classes start in Fall.
- Fill the required fields as precisely as possible, so that the jury may best assess your application file.
- Upload all the required supporting documents. Beware the supported files types and sizes.
- Once your application file is complete, you must submit it before the end of the round of application you are applying to.
The Admissions team will check all submitted application files, even incomplete ones.
No complaints will be examined if an application file has not been verified by the applicant before the end of the application period.

The Bachelor of Science is a program delivered by École Polytechnique. This three-year program is designed for students entering higher education who are passionate about mathematics and science and who wish to study science at one of the world's top universities. It is highly selective and multidisciplinary, taught entirely in English, and is fully open to the world, with an intake of 74% international students.
PhD track is a five-year program aimed at high-potential undergraduate students who know from Master’s level that they wish to commit to a scientific PhD. This pathway provides a springboard for tackling the future scientific challenges in research and development centers of companies and major universities. The first two years of the course are attached to the Master’s pathway at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. The following three years are spent on a research project which awards you the PhD classification.

Master’s
The Institut Polytechnique de Paris offers a large number of pathways grouped under 15 Master’s programs. The Master’s degrees at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris are open to students holding an undergraduate degree. The training takes two years, admission directly into the 2nd year of the Master’s is only possible for students who have completed the first year of a similar Master’s program (60 ECTS).

Specialized Master’s
The Specialized Master’s is a one-year post-Master’s program (6 years’ higher education), delivered by the founding schools of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, for students wishing to supplement their studies and professionals seeking to acquire professional expertise. This highly scientific and professional course is open to all students who have completed a 2-year Master’s or those who have done 1 year with relevant work experience (3 years minimum)
Master of Science and Technology
The Master of Science and Technology of École Polytechnique is a one-year multidisciplinary training course delivering an industry-oriented Master’s level degree (5 years’ higher education). It is aimed at students with 3 years of higher education and solid knowledge of science and/or engineering.
Executive Master
The Executive Master is a degree program of École Polytechnique dedicated to senior managers with an average of 15 years of experience. Its aim is to develop leaders to design, deploy and manage projects with a strong focus on innovation and technology, in an international perspective, and for organizations from any sector. The program consists of 12 modules of 4-5 days that span over 14 months allowing them to follow the classes while working full time.
The Institut Polytechnique de Paris offers 3-year doctoral programs in a wide variety of disciplines. The doctoral research conducted at IP Paris draws on 32 laboratories, some of which are co-tutored with CNRS and Inria, offering a top-quality research environment. IP Paris doctoral students can carry out their studies in partnership with a company. There are two doctoral schools: the multidisciplinary IP Paris Doctoral School (link), co-accredited with HEC Paris, and the Hadamard Doctoral School of Mathematics (link), co-accredited with Paris-Saclay University and PSL University.
Each year the five schools of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris welcome more than 5000 students into their engineering programs. These 3- or 4-year multidisciplinary courses are highly selective and are open to students who have completed at least 2 years of an undergraduate degree in science, engineering, economics or quantitative finance.

École Polytechnique offers summer schools in artificial intelligence, data science and French Culture for undergraduate students, as well as Sciences for school students who are studying for higher education.
The Institut Polytechnique de Paris and its member schools offer free online courses in science, technology, engineering, digital and innovation. Open to everyone from secondary school to PhD level. All the courses are taught by faculty members from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
